Year 5 EAL Assembly - King Richard the Lionheart and Robin Hood

Year 5 has been comparing myths and legends this term in English and presented the legend of Robin Hood in front of their parents and all of milepost 3. 

In the Year 1190, good King Richard left England to go on a battle and left his brother bad Prince John to be king in his place. Unfortunately, Prince John was greedy and started taxing the poor to make more money. When he heard about this, brave Robin Hood and his Merry Men (and women!) began taking from the rich and giving back to the poor, which upset Prince John. Finally, King Richard returned. He thanked and rewarded Robin Hood and banished Prince John from the palace.
