Christmas is coming, and one of the most famous Christmas stories of all is
A Christmas Carol by English writer, Charles Dickens. First published in 1843, this fictional tale tells the story of Ebeneezer Scrooge, a mean and uncaring London businessman who changes his ways after being visited by four spirits on Christmas Eve.
Here you will find a children's version of the classic novel with text, audio and images to enjoy and to practice your listening and reading skills.
Tip: When reading direct speech, think about how the different characters are feeling and how their voices would sound. Ebeneezer Scrooge is an angry old man who hates Christmas. How would he say, "Bah! Humbug!"?
